Plings helps gets messages about positive activities in front of young people.
Boredometer is a free tool that uses the Plings database to find positive activies for young people.
If your positive activity data is in the Plings database, young people in your area will find places to go and things to do using Boredometer.
Boredometer is a social application for Facebook and Bebo.
It's for young people, and it's installed on a profile. It makes it easy for young people to help each other find places to go and things to do.
Boredometer was co-designed and tested throughout development with young people from Birmingham and Norwich. The app was built using the principles in the Plings paper 'Safe and Effective SNS Application for young people'

The Boredometer Administration Tool
As well as Boredometer, the Plings project has produced another tool for getting messages about positive activities onto Facebook. It's for councils, and it's installed on a council Facebook Page.
Use of the Boredometer Administration Tool requires an access key which permits its use and links a particular install of the tool to a particular area. The tool is designed to be used in accordance with your existing social media policies.
It allows council staff working on the local youth offer to:
- Publish Plings onto Facebook Pages easily
- Send messages to all Boredometer users in their area.
- Follow an admin trail showing which specific Facebook account sent which messages.
- Examine statistics on Boredometer usage in their area.
